It's Gonna Happen

All too often, hope is pessimistically described as the little boy who once said: "Hope is wishing for something you know ain't gonna happen." It's striking how much that view differs from the Biblical viewpoint offered in Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

"Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God."
               Psalm 146:5

Your hope in Christ allows you to see things that aren't as though they were. Is your life marked by a spiritual vision that is optimistic toward the future, or by a physical vision that is limited only to what you can see in front of you?

As you look ahead toward the rest of this week and the coming Independence Day weekend, pray that your vision will expand beyond what you may now see in your life - pain, strongholds, darkness - into a realm of what your life can be in Christ ... healing, deliverance and living in the light of His blessed love. Then, translate that personal vision to infuse your prayers for the nation and its leaders with new faith and passion ... trusting that what you intercede for is "gonna happen" according to His perfect will.
