Volunteering

Volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services. Volunteering is generally considered an self-serving activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. Volunteers also have an opportunity to use their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment, to have fun, and a variety of other reasons that could be considered self-serving.

Granny's Place needs volunteers to work with our teenagers in our mentoring program. Mentors will serve as helpers to teachers and parents to provide additional support to the teens. In addition, mentors may serve as tutors to help students succeed in high school.

We Need Volunteers for:
         At-risk students
         Teenage mothers
Teen males who have been in the juvenile justice system.
